This is a Daucus carota, also known as wild carrot, bird's nest, bishop's lace, and Queen Anne's lace.
I was hiking around a pond on a cold winters day when I stopped to get a closer look at this. In the warmer months this would be a white, flowering plant, but in the winter it is barren and seems to be reaching to the sun for warmth.
I like the shallow depth of field with a hints of a blue sky of this image, it is minimal, smooth and sharp all at the same time.
