Twenty Days

 

In 2025, Pierre Nagley was heading back to Kyoto and his time in the village was coming to an end. He had just 20 days to complete the mural. These photos represent those twenty days.


A quick intro from Pierre:


Last year while I was in Yellow Springs, Ohio, I painted a mural with the support of many local villagers.

The theme of the mural was faces of immigrants and symbols from their culture that they would carry with them as protection and guidance on their journey.

It’s a large wall and I had about 20 days to paint the entire thing before returning to Kyoto. What a whirlwind of planning, gathering supplies, sketching and painting. Not much time for revisions and second guessing. I think it turned out well.
